We are so happy to have carried this programming through with two fantastic summer camps yesterday—and we had so much fun doing it!💛Station
💛Station 1 – Pollinators in Action: We buzzed into the world of pollinators with Pollination Tag! The kids created their own flowers and fruits, learned how pollen travels, and discovered why bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are so important. We wrapped it up with a high‑energy Nectar Race—running nectar from flower to nest as fast as we could!
🎨 Station 2 – Wildflower Crafts: We loved exploring colour and texture with native wildflowers and leaves. From clovers to Queen Anne’s lace, the campers turned plants into beautiful prints.
🎲Station 3 – Ecology Charades: Laughter filled the air as we played picture charades and acting games with words like monarch, acorn, and cattail—learning about local wildlife, forests, rivers, and even plastic reduction along the way.
We had such a wonderful day sharing these activities. Days like this remind us why we love bringing environmental education to our community!
Thank you to all the campers for your energy, curiosity, and big smiles. Another big thank you to the Club Cascades and Centre Meredith summer camps for a wonderful welcome. The project is funded by the Government of Canada through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
